Full Day Tour Argolida

Our full-day tour at Argolida begins early in the morning. Via the coastal National highway, we will arrive at the Corinth Canal. It connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf and it separates Peloponnese with the mainland of Greece. Do not forget to take many pictures.

After the canal, we are going to enter to the region of Argolis, the land of Homer’s Golden Mycenae, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Dating back to the second century B.C., Mycenae was one of the major centers of the Greek civilization and a military stronghold which was mainly dominated at the southern Greece.

You will be able to visit:

  • the archaeological site, the kingdom of the mythical Agamemnon,
  • the Cyclopean Walls,
  • the Lion’s Gate,
  • the Royal Tombs and
  • the Treasury of Atreus, a magnificent 14th-century B.C. structure.

The time has arrived for a traditional Greek lunch at a nearby restaurant (optional). Before lunch and per your request, we can make an optional stop at pottery factory.

Later on the day, through Argos, we will depart for Naufplion, the first capital of modern Greece. Its Venetian fortress of “Palamidi” and the fortified islet of “Bourtzi” or “Kasteli” will enchant you (short stop).

Our last destination is Epidaurus. The region is mainly known for the ancient theatre, which is listed as a UNESCO world heritage monument. It remains one of the best preserved classical Greek buildings and an exemplary theatre due to the amazing acoustics. Epidaurus, is also reputed to be the birthplace of Apollo’s son Asklepios, “the healer”, and used to be the most celebrated healing center of the classical world.
